Dominik was born 1984 in Burgenland in Austria. His first steps towards film industry started with various internships in media city Cologne in 2003 followed by an usual job placement as a media technician on the ship „Cap Anamur“ for the same named aid and rescue organization. The footage captured on this exciting journey was used for several TV documentaries. In 2007 Dominik enrolled at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He studied cinematography and got nominated for the Kodak camera prize for his overall performance during his studies. The short movie „amok love“ has been screened in the student competition of Cameraimage in Lodz in 2009.
Dominik is working as a freelance DoP since 2004. Up to now he shot 7 feature films, 10 TV-formats and over 20 short movies. His debut feature film „Party of Eight“ was nominated at Hofer Filmtage and Festival des Films du Monde and won at the achtung berlin filmfestival. His second feature „The Raft“ just got nominated at the Max Ophüls Preis. Besides feature and short films Dominik is shooting commercials for respected clients, such as Mercedes, Panasonic and Henkel.
Dominik is living with his daughter in Berlin.
